California is a large state with many large cities.   Each city has its own culture and there are a million things to do.

The AMGEN Tour of California is a bicycle race that takes place in eight stages and eight cities.   You can catch the Prologue in San Francisco, stage one is Sausalito to Santa Rosa, stage two is Santa Rosa to Sacramento, stage three is Stockton to San Jose, stage four is Seaside to San Luis Obispo, stage five is in Solvang, stage six is Santa Barbara to Santa Clarita and stage seven is in Long Beach.   Several teams from around the world meet in California in February for a race that is 650 miles long.   The race runs through the redwoods, through the wine country and to the Pacific Coast.

Yosemite Park is a national icon and at the Autry National Center-Museum of the American West you will have the opportunity to view art of the park.   There are a number of artists to be featured and Part II of the exhibition is to be exhibited through the month of February.   This exhibit allows visitors to view more than 140 artworks from the years 1970 to present and see Yosemite through the eyes of various artists.   The museum is located at the Museum of the American West Institute for the Study of the American West Griffith Park Campus in Los Angeles.

If you find yourself in San Francisco Bay in February, you may find time to take a Moonlight Sail with OCSC Sailing.   These are held once a month and are $40 for non-members.   The sail gives you the opportunity to sail on a yacht skippered by a professional.   You can enjoy in the beauty of the sail or even help out.   After the sail they hold a party with chili, chips, salsa, snacks and beverages.   These sails are popular winter events in the San Francisco Bay area and are sure to be a beautiful experience and a chance for some relaxation.

California is a large state and these events donít even begin to cover everything that there is to do, however, they are very unique and can be a lot of fun as well as interesting. So, whether you are on vacation or just looking for something to do, California has a lot of options in February.
