Racing Tennessee
Bristol Motor Speedway
Bristol Motor Speedway had its first race in 1961 with over 17,000
in attendance. In 2003 a record 160,000 occupied the stands as Kurt
Busch won his second Food City 500. The entire
backtrack and old concrete stands were demolished and reconstructed
in 1996 and the result is seating for 150,000, 52 luxury skyboxes
and a spectacular track. The Bristol Motor Speedway hosts a number
of events including regular Street Fights, Mopar Drag Racing, Harley
Davidson Drag Racing, and the Junior Dragster Nationals, all of
which attract large crowds in attendance.
