Darlington Raceway
The Darlington Raceway is the result of one mans vision of what a
racetrack should be. Harold Brasington was a visionary for the sport
of NASCAR, and worked to see his dream become a reality in 1950 in
the small town of Darlington, and the Speedway became one of the most
popular in the country. Over the past few, years two additional grandstands
have been erected, more than doubling the seating capacity. New facilities
include souvenir stands, food courts, gift shops, and the Tyler Tower
which sits on turn 4. The track is also undergoing a major repaving
project which should be completed by the end of 2007.
