Salmon River Lodge is one of Idaho's finest full service
wilderness outfitters. We have been at the same location since 1959. We offer a
true wilderness experience in untamed Idaho. We are located in the largest
wilderness area in the lower 48 states, The Frank Church River of No
Return Wilderness. Our main Lodge has beds for 45 with a full time
staff and a 206 bush plane for our high country land strip. Our season begins
in late Feb. with the spring steelhead fishing season. In April we hunt
spring Black Bear just come out of their dens, by jet boat and hounds.
In June we begin our 5 day white water float trips down the Main Salmon
River, family reunions, meetings, and jet excursions down the 75 miles
of the Main Salmon River. July and Aug. we run our wilderness horse pack
trips into the high lakes for trout fishing and photography. Sept.
begins our big game hunting seasons for Bull Elk, Mule Deer, Bear, Mountain
Lion,and Bighorn Sheep, with Chuckar and grouse hunting on the side.
Mid Oct. our run of salt water Steelhead arrives and we fish and hunt until
the river ices over in late Nov. Dec. Jan. and Feb we hunt Mountain
Lion with hounds. Then we start all over again.
