The Lure of Fishing in Minnesota
If your daydreams take you to a boat on a lake in Minnesota, then we have to places to bring those fantasies to live, after all we are the "Land of 10,000 Lakes" and those lakes are home to an abundant fish population
Lake Superior - Minnesota's "deep blue" is Lake Superior. The largest of the fresh water lakes in the world.
Lake Superior is superior whn it comes to fishing Lake Trout, Chinook, and Coho Salmon and Steelehead. The streams that flow to the big water offer an exciting and challenging fishing outing for anglers.
Don't forget your Fly Gear. Native Brook Trout and resident Rainbow Trout can be caught on light fly and spinning tackle if you're up to treking inland on one of the many streams that feed into Lake Superior.
Wilderness Fishing - The Boundry Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, Voyageurs National Park and other Wilderness lakes of Northeastern Minnesota is a fishing experience like none other, many lakes are set aside for canoeing only.
The Big Lakes - If your looking for deep lake fishing then the expansive waters of Mille Lacs, Lake of the Woods, Winnibigoshish and Leech Lakes offer just what your looking for. The Muskie lurks in these waters along with Walleye, Northerns, Perch and other Panfish.
Ice Fishing - Minnesotans have been dropping their fishing line into the Ice covered lakes of Minnesota for generations. With many Resorts offering Ice fishing packages you can enjoy the experience just like Walter Mathau and Jack Lemmon in "Grumpy Old Men"
