Apple Valley was settled in 1858 as Lebanon Township. It became known as the Village of Apple Valley on January 1, 1969 and it was incorporated in 1974.
A charming city just 20 minutes south of the Minneapolis - St. Paul metro area, offering a wide range of shopping and recreation activities. Visit Apple Valley's downtown area, where shops, restaurants and tree lined sidewalks creating a suburbanized "Main Street". You can enjoy a game of Golf at the Valleywood Championship course or visit the Lebanon Hills Regional Park for horseback riding, mountain biking, camping or fishing.

The city holds several special events, including the Apple Valley Ring around the Arts Festival, held the 2nd weekend of September, highlighting the works of area artists and features live music and strolling preformers. Another event held the 2nd weekend of February, The Mid Winter Festival, this festive get together has something for everybody.
