Museums in West Palm Beach, Fl

West Palm Beach is home to – you guessed it – palm trees.  Lot’s of them.  The area is also home to fancy homes, famous people, and beautiful beaches.  If you’re trying to figure out what to do when visiting West Palm Beach, your options are endless.

Our first recommendation we have for area visitors is to check out Peanut Island.  In 1960, a bunker below this island was built for then President John F. Kennedy.  Tourists enjoy visiting the bunker because of the scenery and the fact it’s a historic landmark.

If you’re traveling with the kids, the Palm Beach Zoo will certainly keep them (and you) entertained throughout the day.  You can get up close and personal with many different wild animals.

Don’t forget to stop for a bite to eat in between your trips to local attractions.  Amongst the top places to get your grub on include the following:  Rhythm Café, Sunset Bar & Grill, Taco Vida, Duffy’s Sports Grill, and Gulfstream Seafood Restaurant.

Our final recommendation for fun things to do in West Palm Beach is to visit the many great museums.  They are fun and educational for visitors of all ages.  The following is a listing of the different West Palm Beach museums.

The Norton Museum of Art is known for its distinguished collection of American, Chinese, Contemporary, and European Art.  There are many special exhibits on display that will amaze children and adults.  Stick around for Art After Dark on Thursday evenings.  They have live music, special exhibitions, tours, and a cash bar.  Admission is free to museum members and children under 13.  This museum is well worth the price of admission.  We strongly recommend any art lover to not miss out on a chance to view the Norton Museum of Art when visiting West Palm Beach.

South Florida Science Museum

There is nothing more educational than a science museum.  The best part about the South Florida Science Museum is it’s also loads of fun.  This truly is one of the best science museums in Florida.  They have a plethora of neat exhibits that are enjoyable for parents and children.  On the second Saturday of every month, they have three daily laser concerts featuring mostly popular 80’s and 90’s rock bands.  Check their website for a listing of dates and times.
