Bicycle Trails

  • Cannon Valley Trail - Cannon Falls - 19 Mile Route - Follows an old railroad grade along the Cannon River, from Cannon Falls to Red Wing. Crushed Limestone with 5 miles of asphalt surfacing. Terrain changes from Steep Rocky cliffs to Hardwood forests and Marshlands. Parking Available in Cannon Falls & Red Wing
  • Douglas State Trail - Rochester - 12.5 Mile Route - Follows an old Railroad Grade between Rochester and Pine Island. Paved surface with a separate path for Horseback riding. Parking available in Pine Island, Douglas & Rochester
  • Gunflint Trail - Grand Marais - 116 Mile Route - Eastern entrance to the Boundry Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Paved highway passing through Glacial Lakes, scenic vistas, and an abundate amount of wildlife. There are many Resorts, guides, and outfitters in the area. Take a break to do some fishing or canoeing. The trail begins in Grand Marais North on Gunflint Trail to Lake Superior Nation Forest.
  • Heartland State Trail - Park Rapids - 28 Mile Route - Follows an old railroad grade from Park Rapids to Walker Passes through farmlands, wooded areas, rolling hils, and the Chippewa National Forest. Paved Surfaces with grades less than 3%
  • Iron Range Tour - Plymouth - 37 Mile Route - Follows an old railroad grade from Plymouth through Watertown to winsted. Trail was onced used by the Dakota Indians. Crushed limestone surface. Crosses the Crow River and rural croplands and Pastures.
  • Mississippi Bluffs Loop - Hinckley - 32 Mile Route - Follows an old railroad grade from Hinckley to Moose Lake. Trail is also know as the Hinkley Fire Trail, used as an escape route for the citizens of Hinckley during the fire of 1894. Visit the Hinckley Fire Museum for details of the fire. Paved surface with less than a 3% grade. There is Camping at the Moose Lake Recreation Area.
  • Northern Pine and Lakes Loop - Park Rapids - 123 Mile Route - Loop provides varied trip lengths through the woods and Lakes of Central Minnesota. Trail begins on Heartland State Trail From Park rapids to Walker
  • Prairie Highland Loop - Lake Benton - 68 Mile Route - Rolling Hills, Farmlands, and westerly winds characteristics of South Western Minnesota Biking Opportunities. Trail begins from Lake Benton on U.s> 75 - east on Cty. route 9- south on Cty. routes 7 & 18 through Ruthton - South on State route 23 through Pipestone and Ihlen to split Rock creek State Park.
  • Root River State Park - Lanesboro - 6 Mile Route - Completed Bicycling segment (part of a 35 Mile multi use trail) follows an old railroad grade from Lanesboro to Isinours along Root River. Paved surface. Cross country skiing
  • Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail - Mankato - 39 Mile Route - Follows an old railroad grade from Mankato to Faribault. Multi purpose trail with crushed limestone surface. Passes through transition zone from Big woods to Prairie. Camping at Sakatah Lake State Park
  • St. Croix Valley Tour - William O'Brien State Park - 60 MileRoute - Trail connects 3 State Parks and Historic St. Croix River Valley. Landscape features rolling Farmlands, rocky Cliffs, Lakes, and Pine Forests. Trail begins at William O'Brien State Park - North on State route 95 to Interstate State Park - North to Taylors Falls on Cty. Rd. 71 to Wild River State Park - South on Cty. Rds. 12, 20,25 & 3 respectively. - In Scandia, east on State Route 95 return to William O'Brien State Park
  • Winona Root River Valley Tour - Rushford - 82 Mile Route - Scenic tour of the Mississippi river. Limestone bluffs and overlooks of Root River. Winding back roads and Challenging Hills. Trail begins in Rushford on State route 30 west - Cty. routes 25 & 29 north to Cty. Rd. 106 east - South on Cty. route 25 to Cty. route 12 - North on State route 43 to U.S. 61 - soth on U.S. 61 to Cty. route 7 - west on Cty. route 12 - South on Cty. routes 11 & 9 - west on State route 16 back to Rushford

  • AFTON STATE PARK - Afton - 18 Mile Trail - Hike along the lower St. Croix National Scenic Riverway. Scenery includes wooded bluffs, prairies, and wooded ravines along hillsides and meadows. - Difficulties range - Variety of levels - Camping Available
  • ANGLEWOOD TRAIL - Ely - 14 Mile Trail - Loop around Anglewood, Home & Whiskey Jack Lakes. Off Echo Trail/County Route 116. Be sure to bring your camera, features scenic overlooks and stands of White & Red Pines. - Difficulties range - Rugged terrains & high rock ridges - Camping limited to 9 designated sites
  • BANNING STATE PARK - Sandstone - 15 Mile Trail - Hike along designated wild and scenic sections of Kettle River, that run though the historic ruins of the Banning quarry. Self Guided tour of the Banning Quarry trail along the quarry railroad grade. Trails vary in lengh with loops and cutoffs. Wooded areas with numerous scenic vistas. Difficulties range - Rocky & Rugged terrain
  • BASS LAKE TRAIL Ely - 12 Mile Trail - Off Echo Trail/County Route 116 in the Superior National Forest. Well Marked trail going around Bass Lake and various ecological zones, including old Lake bottoms.
  • BEAR HEAD LAKE STATE PARK - Soudan - 17 Mile Trail - Hike through scenic northwoods setting with rolling forested hills. Series of Marked trails with loops and cutoffs circling several remote lakes.Trail intersects the Taconite State Trail (see below) While hiking you may see a Timber wolf or a Bear. - Camping available at designated sites
  • BLUE MOUNDS STATE PARK - Luverne - 10 Mile Trail - Trails offer an opportunity to view Minnesota's prairie environment, including herds of grazing Buffalo. Trail passes through a unique outcropping of Sioux quartzite. (see unique features section) - Camping available
  • BORDER ROUTE TRAIL - Grand Marais - 40 Mile Trail - Off the Gunflint Trail, parallels the canoe routes of the Indians and Voyagers in the Boundry Water Canoe Area (BWCA) Wilderness and ends at The Arrowhead Trail. Hike along high cliffs with views of  forests and lakes. Wildlife include Deer, Moose, Wolves & Loons. Difficulties range - Rugged trail for experienced hikers. - Camping only allowed with BWCA Wilderness permit
  • BUFFALO RIVER STATE PARK - Glyndon - 12 Mile Trail - Hike along the Buffalo River and into the vast expanse of one of Minnesota's largest remaining virgin prairies. Savanna Cutoff InterpretiveTerrain. Difficulties range - Level Terrain
  • CAMDEN STATE PARK - Lynd - 9 Mile Trail - Trail loops across open prairie and travels on through the wooded valley of the Redwood River. Scenic vistas and Historic sites highlite the trail. Interpretive center and Self Guided trail. Difficulties range - Easy with some steep areas - Camping available
  • CAMP RABIDEAU CCC TRAIL - Blackduck - 1 Mile Trail - Short trail going through Camp rabideau in the Chippewa National Forest. Interpretive displays show the history of the area and buildings. Picnic area. Difficulties range - Easy - Camping available at Webster Lake
  • CASCADE RIVER STATE PARK - Grand Marais - 15 Mile Trail - Hike along both sides of the Cascade River Gorge, (Lake Superior Shoreline) and up to Lookout and Moose Mountains. Great Panoramic View of Lake Superior, Sawtooth Mountains and the River Gorge. Difficulties range - Varied terrain
  • CRUISER LAKE TRAIL - Voyageurs National Park - 9 Mile Trail - Accessible by water only, on the northeastern edge of Lost Bay on Kabetogama Lake. Trail crosses Kabetogama Peninsula to Anderson Bay on Rainy Lake. There are seven Lakes along the trail and connecting points include Cruiser Lake at the midway point. Scenic overlooks, granite outcroppings, and a wide variety of Plant and Wildlife. Difficulties range - Varied terrain - Numerous Campsites along the trail
  • CUT FOOT SIOUX TRAIL - Deer River - 22 Mile Trail - Hike along several offshoots along the continental divide. Starts at Cut Foot Sioux visitor information center in Chippewa National Forest. Passes through Hardwood and Pine Forests into hilly area with small Lakes. Connects with Simpson Creek Trail, a 13 mile trail system through large Pine forest on the Peninsula of Lake Winnebigoshish. Be on the lookout for Osprey, Eagles and Loons. Fishing and Berry picking in the area. Difficulties range - Varied terrain - Two designated Campsites
  • DOUGLAS STATE TRAIL - Rochester - 12.5 Mile Trail - Developed on an abandoned railroad grade, going through rural scenery and farmland. Trail begins in Northwest Rochester and travels through Douglas onto Pine Island. Difficulties range - Easy
  • EAGLE MOUNTAIN TRAIL - Grand Marais - 7 Mile Trail - Trail starts at the Junction of Forest Roads 153 & 158 in the Superior National Forest, extending North to Eagle Mountain - the highest point in Minnesota at 2301 feet/701 Meters. Rolling terrain through Birch, spruce and Fir Forests with Plank walks over Boggy Areas. Scenic Views of Forests and Lakes including Lake Superior. Trail Continues on to Brule Lake Difficulties range - Varied terrain
  • FORESTVILLE STATE PARK - Preston - 16 Mile Trail - Wander through the hardwood forests and steep ravines of the Root River Valley. Wide variety of trails in a Stream dissected terrain, with springs, caves and underground rivers, shared with Horseback riders. Difficulties range - Varied terrain - Camping Available
  • FORT RIDGLEY STATE PARK - Fairfax - 10 Mile Trail - Trails Pass over rolling prairies and wooded ravines of the Minnesota River Valley. Travels through the site of the Dakota Conflict of 1862, features historic building and Museum. Difficulties range - Varied terrain - Camping Available
  • GEORGE H. CROSBY - MANITOU STATE PARK - Schroeder - 23 Mile Trail - Hiking trails provide scenic routes along the Manitou River waterfalls, Lake Superior and through the Yellow Birch Forest. Difficulties range - Hilly terrain with steep & rocky areas - Campsites along the river
  • GLACIAL LAKES STATE PARK - Starbuck - 11 Mile Trail - Starting at the parking lot the trail loops through high hills, and Glacial ridges surrounding Signalness Lake (also know as Mountain Lake) including Panoramic Views. Vegetation ranges from virgin prairies to Oak Forest. - Two Campsites
  • GRAND PORTAGE TRAIL - Grand Portage National Monument - 8 Mile Trail - Starting in the Monument Area (see Historic Sites) the trail follows historic portage of Fur Traders to Fort Charlotte, ending at the Cascades Waterfall. Difficulties range - Varied Terrain - No Camping
  • HAY CREEK TRAILS - Red Wing - 17 Mile Trail - Trail passes through Richard J. Dorer Memorial Hardwood State Forest. Dense hardwood forest with views of sparsely developed Valley. Wildlife includes Wild Turkey, Fishing in Hay Creek might catch you some Trout. Picnic Area Difficulties range - Rugged terrain,Steep Hills and Valleys
  • HAYES LAKE STATE PARK - Roseau - 11 Mile Trail - Starting at the parking area, Trails loop around Lake and Roseau River into the Pristine northwoods setting. Scenic views, abundant wildlife including Heron, Grebe and less common waterbirds. Difficulties range - Easy
  • HEARTLAND STATE TRAIL Park Rapids - 50 Mile Trail - Two Segments developed on Old railroad grades. First segment starts at State Route 34 in Park Rapids, ending at County Rd. 34 In Walker. 2nd Segment starts .5 miles south of Kabedona Bay Bridge, ending 2 Miles south of Cass Lake, Scenery includes, Farmland, Lakes, Wetlands and Woods. Located in the Paul Bunyan State Forest.
  • HELMER MYRE STATE PARK - Albert Lea - 16 Mile Trail - Three self Guided Trails. Glacial evidence through out the Park in the the Prairie pothole region. Gathering ground for 1000's of White Pelicans during the spring & fall. - Camping Available
  • HERRIMAN LAKE TRAIL - Crane Lake - 14 Mile Trail - Trail starts off County Rd. 424 into Superior National Forest. Short and long trails, Major trails lead to Dovre or Little Vermilion Lakes or South along the Echo River. Difficult climb to the scenic ridgetop overlooking Baylis Lake. Difficulties range - Varied - 3 designated campsites
  • HOGBACK LAKE TRAIL - Isabella - 5 Mile Trail - Start at Hogback Lake picnic are of Forest road 172 in the Superior National Forest. Follow around Scarp Lake to Lupus Lake - Four wilderness campsites along the trail
  • ITASCA STATE PARK - Isabella - 33 Mile Trail - Trail starts at the parking lot offering a variety of difficulties levels. The park contains the headwaters of the Mississippi River, with 30,223 acres of lakes and virgin pine forests. Terrain contains some steep hills, and a view of the forest from a fire tower. Difficulties range - Varied - 4 backpacking campsites.
  • JAY COOKE STATE PARK - Esko - 50 Mile Trail - Extensive trails for both the experienced and beginners. Trails cross rugged and spectacular terriansin Hardwood and Pine Forests. Follow the St Louis river through a picturesque gorge. Cross over a suspended swinging bridge, and historic St. Louis River Portage. Several Scenic vistas. Difficulties range - Varied - 4 Backpacking campsites
  • KILEN WOODS STATE PARK - Lakefield - 5 Mile Trail - Series of trails in the Des Moines River Valley that pass through Oak Savanna. meadows, woods and prairies. The Park Features abundant wildlife and rare plants. - Camping Available
  • KRUGER TRAIL - Wabasha - 8 Mile Trail - Start off County Rd. 81 into the Richard J. Dorer Memorial Hardwood Forest. Trail loops through steep rugged  hardwood forests with excellent views of the Zumbro River Valley. 3/4 of handicap access nature trail. - Campground and Picnic area
  • LAKE BRONSON STATE PARK - Lake Bronson - 14 Mile Trail - Trail loops through short grass prairie, marshes and rolling hills of the Red River Valley area. Hi Bank Nature Trail along Lake Bronson. Wild Life includes upland sandpiper and moose
  • LAKE MARIA STATE PARK - West of Monticello - 13 Mile Trail - Widely varied hiking trails on wooded and rolling land with deciduous tree cover surrounding several lakes, ponds, and marshes. Spring wildflower bloom. Terrain characteristic of terminal moraines left by last glaciers. Good training hike for longer trips. Bird watching. - 11 backpacking campsites
  • LOCATOR LAKE TRAIL - Voyageurs National Park - 4 Mile Trail - Trailhead on Kabetogama Peninsula near La Bontys Point on Kabetogama Lake. Nature trail crosses a variety of plant and animal environments, including granite ridges, damp lowlands and beaver flowages. Difficulties range - Moderate - Exceptional scenic views
  • LOST FORTY TRAIL - Dora Lake - .5 Mile Trail - Trailhead off Forest Road 2240 in Chippewa National Forest. Trail loop winds through majestic pines of Lost Forty. - Campsites available nearby at Noma Lake Campground
  • LUCE LINE STATE TRAIL - Plymouth - 37 Mile Trail - Trail on abandoned railroad grade closely follows the route used by the Dakota Indians two centuries ago. Trailhead in parking area off Vicksburg Lane. Trail is at this record is incomplete, when completed will total 97 miles.
  • MAGNETIC ROCK TRAIL - 35 miles N.W. of Grand Marais - 3 Mile Trail - In Superior National Forest. Trail passes bare rock, bog and over Larch Creek. Enters area of the 1974 forest fire. Blueberry picking. Wildlife features beaver & moose. - Difficulties range - Moderate
  • MAPLEWOOD STATE PARK - 7 miles S.E. of Pelican Rapids - 25 Mile Trail - Trail system loops through maple covered hills with striking vistas of small, clear lakes nestled in deep valleys and surrounding farmland. Outstanding fall foliage. Self Guided Grass Lake Interpretive Trail. Difficulties range - Parts steep & strenuous - Backpacking campsites available.
  • MILLE LACS KATHIO STATE PARK - 5 miles N.W. of Onamia - 35 Mile Trail - Network of hiking trails among hills, meadows and forests on the west side of Mille Lacs Lake. Two self guided walks near interpretive center. Spectacular views of Mille Lacs area from a 100 foot tower.
  • MINNESOTA VALLEY TRAIL - Belle Plaine - 36 Mile Trail - Secluded backcountry trail close to urban area. Trailhead at St. Lawrence State Wayside off county Rd. 57. Trail runs along floodplain marshes and meadows of the Mississippi River Valley. Historic route of Indians, explorers and settlers. Prolonged flooding in the spring time. - Four designated backpacking sites
  • MUNGER STATE TRAIL - Hinckley - 32 Mile Trail - Multi use trail, on an old railroad grade. Trailhead in parking area. Hinckley - Moose Lake section also called the Hinckley Fire Trail after the fire of 1894. Campgrounds and historic markers are found along the trail. Trail will be 200 miles from Saint Paul to Duluth when completed
  • NERSTRAND WOODS STATE PARK - Nerstrand - 14 Mile Trail - Trails embark through outstanding gently rolling, wooded hills and secluded valleys. Colorful fall foliage. Picturesque creeks and waterfall. Trail is in places shared with horseback riders. Varity of trail lengths. - Camping available
  • NORTH COUNTRY NATIONAL SCENIC TRAIL - Walker - 68 Mile Trail - Part of a 3.200 mile National Scenic Trail which , when completed will run from the Appalachian Trail in New York to the Lewis & Clark Trail in North Dakota. Minnesota, section will total 390 miles, becoming one of the States longest backpacking opportunities. Trail threads through numerous lakes and wetlands through pine and hardwood forests. Wildlive includes Bald Eagles. Difficulties range - Level terrain into rolling hills - 7 primitive campsites available.
  • NORTH DARK RIVER TRAIL - 11 miles N.W. of Virginia - 1.3 Mile Trail - Trailhead off County Road 668 in Superior National Forest. Trail follows east bank of the Dark River through Jack Pine Plantation, looping back on an old logging road. Return same route. Vies of the river gorge and sandy valleys.
  • NORTH SHORE STATE TRAIL - Finland - 70 Mile Trail - Trail developed from Duluth to Grand Marais. Trailhead in Finland off State Route 1. Trail Traverses northeastern Minnesota and winds through Forested bluffs overlooking Lake Superior. Remote, natural and underdeveloped settings. Wildlife includes timber wolf, moose, waterfowls and raptors. - Campsites available
  • NORWAY TRAIL - 25 miles N.W. of Ely - 8 Mile Trail - Trailhead off Echo Trail/County Route 116. Trail leads to Trout Lake in the Boundrys Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and crosses Norway Creek. Crosscountry Skiing during Winter
  • O.L.KIPP STATE PARK - Dakota - 7 Mile Trail - Loop trails in exceptionally beautiful area. Blufflands with limestone cliffs, ravines, wooded eastern slopes and grass covered western slopes. King's bluff nature trail offers panoramic view of the Mississippi River Valley. - Camping Available
  • OBERG AND LEVEAUX MOUNTAIN TRAILS - 24 miles S.W. of Grand Marais - 5.6 Mile Trail - National recreation trails, 2.3 & 3.4 miles respectively. Part of the Superior Hiking trail. Trail heads off the parking lot off Forest Rd. 336. Mountaintops, feature high rocky cliffs with spectacular views of Lake Superior and Sawtooth Mountain Range.
  • POWWOW LAKE TRAIL - Forest Center - 55 Mile Trail - Trailhead at Forest Center Landing. Entire trail contained in the Boundry Waters Canoe Area Wilderness of the Superior National Forest. Trail system uses old logging roads and passes through a varity of lands featuring, high pine covered ridges, wet brushy lowlands, grassy meadows, and stands of old growth pine. Crossing streams and low boggy area may be necessary
  • ROOT RIVER STATE TRAIL - Fountain - 35 Mile Trail - Trail developed on an abandoned railroad grade from Fountain to Rushford. Trail parallels Root River's limestone bluffs. Abundant Wildlife to be seen.
  • SAKATAH SINGING HILLS STATE PARK - Mankato - 39 Mile Trail - Trail developed on an abandoned railroad grade from Mankato to Faribault with a .5 mile gap in Waterville. Trailhead off Lime Valley road. Trail lies in transition zone between "big woods" and vast prairies. - Sakatah Lake State Park provides campsites.
  • SAVANNA PORTAGE STATE PARK - Balsam - 22 Mile Trail - Looped trails in varied wilderness of rolling hills, lakes and bogs. Hardwood forests harbor abundant wildlife. Historic Savanna Portage Trail, once a vital link for voyageurs between the Mississippi River and Lake Superior - Camping Available
  • SCENIC STATE PARK - Bigfork - 14 Mile Trail - Trailhead at information center. Trail network includes interpretive trail to Chase Point Esker. Main trail circles pristine lakes with several loops. Virgin red and white tree stands. Abundant wildlife include deer & wolf. Fishing & canoeing on Coon Lake
  • SHINGOBEE RECREATION AREA TRAIL SYSTEM - 5 miles S.W. of Walker - 6 Mile Trail - Trail loops through mixed aspen, birch, and pine forests. Hike along two small lakes and the Shingobee River Valley in he Chippewa National Forest, scenic vista's. Intersection with the North Country National Scenic Trail.
  • SIBLEY STATE PARK - New London - 18 Mile Trail - Trail travels through hardwoods covering rolling glacial moraine hills and the long sandy shore of Lake Andrew. Trail loops feature scenic overlooks of the surrounding forest, prairie knolls, lakes and farmland. One mile self guided interpretive trail - Camping available
  • SIOUX HUSTLER TRAIL - 21 miles N.W. of Ely - 27 Mile Trail - Lopp route follows forest trail 165 off forest rd. 467 on Echo Trail county rd. 116 in the Superior National Forest. Many Stream to wade in, enter parts of the BWCAW and returns to Echo Trail. Difficulties range - Experienced Hikers only - Wilderness campsites available.
  • SNOWBANK OLD PINES HIKING TRAILS - 18 miles N.E. of Ely - 41 Mile Trail - Trailhead for Snowbank Trail at Parking area off Fernberg Road/County route 18: 22 mile loop, with another 2 mile walk on the road back to the trailhead. Passes between Parent and Disappointment Lakes and around Snowbank Lake. Terrain features high rock ridges with scenic overlooks. Old Pine Trail cuts off from Snowbank 5 miles from trailhead, extending 19 miles in two loops around numerous lakes. Compass and Superior National Forest Map Recommended. - eight designated campsites
  • SOUTH LAKE TRAIL - 30 miles N. of Grand Marais - 4 Mile Trail - Trailhead off County route 12/Gunflint Trail near Poplar Lake. Limited parking at trailhead. Portions between Partridge and South Lakes located at the BWCAW. Trail passes through old growth timber and stands of Red and White Pines.

  • STURGEON RIVER TRAIL - 13 miles N. Chisholm - 20 Mile Trail - Trailhead off county route 65 in the Superior National Forest. Trail system offers unique vegetation and varied terrain, featuring high bluffs along the Sturgeon River. Travels through mature timber stands, clear cut areas and grassy openings.
  • SUOMI HILLS TRAIL - 8 miles S. of Marcell - 18 Mile Trail - Trailhead at summer parking lot of Suomi Hills Recreation Area. Trail loops through rugged, heavily timbered terrain with numerous lakes in Chippewa National Foest. Hardwood forest with excetionally scenic views during the fall foliage. - Six designated campsites
  • SUPERIOR HIKING TRAIL - Two Harbors - 180 Mile Trail - Trailhead off county route 3. Rugged trail with impressive views of Lake Superior and sawtooth Mountains. Trail will eventually extend 300 miles from Duluth to Canada.
  • TACONITE STATE TRAIL - Grand Rapids - 165 Mile Trail - Trail developed from Grand rapids to Ely. Trailhead at the Fairgrounds parking lot. Route winds through picturesque forests of aspen, birch and pine trees and leads to many isolated lakes and streams. Points of interest include, Luna Lake CCC logging camp and several old trapper's shacks. - Camping available
  • TETTEGOUCHE STATE PARK - Silver Bay - 14 Mile Trail - Trailhead at the parking area, Series of loops from Lake Superior to spring fed lakes and waterfalls of the Baptism River. Semi mountainous terrian into heavily forested areas provide scenic views of Lake Superior. - Camping available
  • TURTLE MOUND TRAIL - 18 miles N.W. of Deer River - .5 Mile Trail - Trailhead at the parking area off county route 35 in the Chippewa National Forest. Self guided interpretive trail to Turtle Mound built by the Dakota Indians.
  • UPPER SOIUX AGENCY STATE PARK - Granite Falls - 13 Mile Trail - Trail weaves over wooded slopes, meadows, prairie knolls and along the Yellow Medicine River. Scenic views of the Minnesota and Yellow Medicine Rivers. - Camping available
  • WHITEWATER STATE PARK - 6 miles N. of St. Charles - 10 Mile Trail - Trail networks through ravines and over limestone cliffs within a hardwood forest. Colorful Fall foliage. - Camping available
  • WILD RIVER STATE PARK - Almelund - 3 Mile Trail - Woodland trail follows the wild and scenic St. Croix River, some wetlands and horseback riders. Self guided nature trail around Amik's Pond - camping available
  • WILLIAM O'BRIEN STATE PARK - Marine on St. Croix - 10 Mile Trail - Trail winds through bluffs of the St. Croix River Valley. Terrian varies from wooded river floodplain to high, dry, rolling praire with open areas and an Oak forest. - camping available
  • ZIPPEL BAY STATE PARK - 7 miles N.E. of Williams - 6 Mile Trail - Trail loops through wooded terrian and along marshes. Sandy beach stretches for miles along the ocean like Lake of the Woods. - camping available
